Warehouse and logistics jobs keep products moving from trucks to shelves to customers' doors. Titles include warehouse associate, material handler, order picker, forklift operator, shipping and receiving clerk, and inventory associate. Many of these jobs hire quickly, offer overtime, and promote from within, so a strong resume can help you start at a better position or a higher pay rate.
What warehouse employers look for
Supervisors hiring for the warehouse care most about three things: that you show up every scheduled shift, that you work safely, and that you can keep pace with production goals. Equipment experience comes next. If you've driven a forklift, reach truck, or order picker, or used an RF scanner, say so by name. Many warehouses run on strict attendance point systems, so a strong attendance record is worth putting on paper.

Numbers that make you stand out
Warehouses measure everything, which is good news for your resume. If you know your pick rate, accuracy, units per hour, trucks loaded per shift, or days without an incident, use them:
Warehouse Associate, E-commerce Fulfillment Center, Bessemer, AL. 2022 to Present. Picked and packed 120+ units per hour, beating the site goal of 100; kept order accuracy above 99.8%; certified on sit-down and stand-up forklifts; perfect attendance for 18 months.
About forklift certification
Under federal OSHA rules, employers must train and evaluate every forklift operator on the specific equipment they'll use, and re-evaluate operators at least every three years. That means a certification from a past employer shows experience, but your new employer will still train and evaluate you. List your past certification anyway, along with the types of equipment you've operated. It tells a hiring manager you'll learn fast.
Tips for this job
- Mention your shift flexibility. Nights, weekends, overtime, and peak season availability are selling points. Put them in your summary if they're true.
- Name the systems. Warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and voice-picking systems you've used are worth listing.
- Show you can lift and move. Many postings list a lifting requirement, often 50 pounds. You don't need to repeat it, but bullets about loading and unloading show you can handle it.
- Aim for lead roles. If you've trained new hires or covered for a lead, include it. It's the first step toward team lead jobs.
